Head of Product
Shane is the one and only Founder of Intrepica, the company behind LiteracyPlanet. Over 10 years ago, Shane realised the magic and power that creative software had to draw children into a world of learning that could change their lives for the better. It was this understanding, and his love for the intricacies of the English language, that inspired a business focused on enriching the teaching and learning experiences of educators, parents, and children around the world.
Tom Richardson
Chief Executive Officer
Tom is on a mission to transform the way people learn. He is humbled to be leading the Intrepica team who are inspiring a lifetime of learning. Tom is a proud dad of three kids and loves nature, the outdoors, adventure and travel.
David Weston
Head of International Sales
Dave has been working in EdTech for over 10 years, seeing first-hand how technology has changed modern classrooms. He really enjoys working with educators and schools around the world, helping them explore and implement digital resources. Dave believes that making learning fun, and having access to high-quality education tools, can make a positive difference to children from any walk of life. This belief and his passion for travel have seen him develop strong, personal relationships with educators in more than 15 countries.
Samantha Poblete
Head of Operations
Samantha is an enthusiastic Marketer who loves to manage big projects and make people fall in love with educational technology! Samantha's passion is making people's lives easier through intuitive design and simple processes. She loves exploring new countries and is always excited by a new travel adventure.
Calum Fraser
Head of Accounting
Calum is our Head of Accounting and came to Australia from the UK via the Netherlands. He has worked in a number of accounting and finance roles over the past 10 years, most recently focusing on start-ups and scale-ups. When not brushing up on his literacy skills, Calum spends his spare time running Saturday morning park runs, exploring Australia, and taking early morning walks with his dog, Mollie.
Renee Rooney
Head of Customer Success
Renee is passionate about helping customers and providing the best possible service to complement the amazing products that make up Intrepica! Renee gets excited about fostering relationships with customers in a variety of ways to really understand what makes their teaching journey so special. She loves to travel with her family to explore new places, not to mention a good house renovation!
Karina Wolvey
Head of People & Culture
Karina is a very passionate HR Manager; company culture is always front-of-mind and she believes that it’s our amazing people that make Intrepica the best place to work. She really enjoys seeing others succeed around her and is focused on fostering continual growth and development. Karina is an animal lover and would have 100 dogs if she could fit them in her home!

Julie McCann
Head of Australian Sales
Julie has worked in the education sector for over 12 years. She is passionate about making a difference in education and her consultative approach working with schools to support teachers with what’s important to them. Also being a qualified Trainer and Assessor, training schools across the country in both digital and print resources to enrich and support their literacy programs.

Head of United Kingdom Sales
Mark's focus is always helping teachers, educators and students to improve their school’s digital learning strategy with evidence-based learning approaches. When he’s not demonstrating the wonders of LiteracyPlanet, he’s playing with his son George or strumming his guitar.

Founding Intrepica in 2008, Shane had already been developing and publishing e-learning products for 10 years under his first company, Macroworks. This early success and subsequent experience paved the way for today's dynamic business and SaaS platform, which is empowering educators to deliver real English literacy learning outcomes for students of all ages and abilities around the world. Shane's passion for product and culture is shared across the company, continuing to drive creativity and innovation that supports an ever expanding LiteracyPlanet community.
William Best
Non-Executive Director
William is an experienced consultant with a demonstrated history of working in the financial services industry. He is skilled in Risk Management, Corporate Finance, Hedge Funds, Venture Capital, and Asset Management
Sara Watts
Non-Executive Director
Sara Watts is a non-executive Director and Audit Committee Chair currently working in a range of sectors including mineral resources, ed-tech, government, and social services. In addition to her NED portfolio, Sara mentors emerging and transitioning leaders and teaches a weekly ethics class at a local NSW primary school. Before moving into a non-executive career, Sara was CFO of IBM Australia/New Zealand, Vice-Principal Operations (or COO) at the University of Sydney and the interim CEO of City West Housing. Sara holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Business Administration. In addition, she is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of CPA Australia.
Justin Diddams
Non-Executive Director
Justin is currently with Ellerston Capital as a Senior Investment Manager in the private equity portfolio. He has over 18 years of experience in investments and financial markets. Prior to joining Ellerston, Justin was Chief Financial Officer of Cover Genius, a disruptive global insurance tech platform. Prior to this, Justin was a Director at Citigroup for six years, in equity research as head of Telecommunications, Media and Technology sector coverage for Australia and New Zealand, where he focused on thematic and company specific investment research, including coverage of IPO’s and corporate transactions. Before joining Citigroup, Justin spent four years as an Equity Research Analyst with RBS/ABN Amro bank in London where he covered media and entertainment companies throughout Europe. Justin commenced his career as an auditor with EY. He has a Bachelor of Commerce, (Finance and Accounting), University of Sydney and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
